NEWS: Low Life - Dogging LP repress, Constant Mongrel - DCM 7” and Dead Farmers - Wasteland LP have all cleared customs in Australia (after a few phone calls and some gruelling paperwork). Low Life & Constant Mongrel out as soon as I can get them into stores. Dead Farmers out next week.

(The) Sunday Painters - TBD LP will also be hitting stores as soon as possible. Here’s a bit about them… Sunday Painters hailed from Wollongong, Australia, and TBD collects their first three 7” EPs, all self-released by the band in miniscule, hand-assembled editions from 1978-1981. The music that transpired from their membership (helmed at the core by Peter MacKinnon and the late Peter Raengel) bridged glam, art-rock, noise and punk into pop passages that stung and longer reminiscences of near-ambient qualities. Their music, at this stage, is like the unholy but not unreasonable combination of the Homosexuals and Crass. Now we place it before you for further contextualization. Nine songs altogether, including a fine cover of David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.”

The Oblivians are playing in Sydney March 4 with the piss-off good line-up ofHousewives, Low Life and Feedtime. You could say that Oblivions paved the way for many current day garage rocker superstars (along with Reatards, The Gories, Cheater Slicks) but don’t hold that against them they’re actually very good. ALSO feedtime have a new 7” out this week on Sub Pop Records of all places. There’s copies in Australia, I’ve seen and heard it and it doesn’t disappoint. It sounds just like feedtime. Feedtime are the best.

One last thing, wrote my staff picks of the year over Repressed Records website. Last thing you need is another best of 2014 list but here it is anywayhttp://www.repressedrecords.com/blog/nic-s-picks-of-2014
